SproutX launches first Pre-Accelerator Program backed by funding from LaunchVic

The emerging field of agricultural technology has the potential to reshape global agriculture, increasing the productivity and reducing the environmental implications of ag production practices. Diverse technology in farming creates new solutions for food production leaving a positive impact on the lives of producers and consumers.
That's why Findex started national agtech accelerator, SproutX. The team at SproutX help connect Australian founders, investors, industry mentors, agribusiness, academia, and government to world-class innovation across the agrifood supply chain.
Now with funding from the state innovation agency, LaunchVic, SproutX are launching their first ever Pre-Accelerator Program, Business of Agriculture*, to attract new entrants to the agtech ecosystem with the long-term aim of converting science and technology entrepreneurs into Victorian technology businesses. The $2.2 million in funding SproutX has received will be used to run a two-year project, with a target to foster 70 incorporated start-ups by 2024.
The Pre-Accelerator Program
SproutX will be running a free 10-week online course, with an autumn and a spring cohort each year, including online workshops that work around your daily routine and current job. The program will also offer farm tours that cater to individuals from tertiary research, academic, and corporate research and development participants to consider commercial opportunities through start-ups.
