Kieran Canavan is a Chief Investment Officer and the executive responsible for the Group's Investment Products and Services Division. His remit spans funds management, investment research, investment operations, investment implementation and platforms. Kieran plays a central role in investment governance, serving as Deputy Chairman of the Investment and Asset Allocation Committee and the New Zealand Investment Committee. He is also a Director and Responsible Manager of the Group's funds management business and Responsible Entity.
Kieran brings more than 30 years' experience across financial services, with deep expertise in investment strategy, product governance, asset allocation and multi-asset portfolio solutions. His career has encompassed senior leadership roles including Head of Lending, Head of Treasury Services and Head of Products and Services before being appointed Chief Investment Officer in 2014. Throughout these roles he has been responsible for the development, oversight and governance of regulated investment products, the management of investment committees, and the delivery of institutional-quality investment solutions for wholesale and retail clients.
Kieran holds a Master of Business Administration, is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and holds AFMA Responsible Manager and RG 146 qualifications. He is actively involved in community-based volunteer and not-for-profit organisations.
